Yes, it's another music thread! To help the others as well who may have not felt their music fit into the preceding threads, I have opened this one in order to give those very songs a place to stay ^^.
Although, I would like to carry this one out a bit differently. In order to help me get to know you all better, in addition to help you learn more about me as well, I wanted to have you all post a certain song that you enjoy listening to and your history with it if it is not too personal.
To start off, one band, or rather "circle," I randomly came across during my internet surfing sessions was called Barbarian on the Groove. I discovered it on some blog during the time I became really interested in Touhou games and was looking for some background pictures to have and maybe try using PhotoShop on for fun. Interesting name for a music circle though huh? lol well, after poking around Youtube for a bit, I came across two songs that I came to enjoy:
Unfortunately, I cannot read what the name of the second one is :C.
Continuing on, one other song for me is: which has a profound history for me. At the end of my last gathering with my high school friends, before we all went to college two years ago, we were sitting in one car preparing to leave when this song started playing and we had suddenly began singing along for no reason. I found it really corny, but as some of them were moving to the East Coast (I live in California) how could I resist not joining in? haha ^^ I'm not sure at all how the song correlated with what was going on in our lives to make us so eager to sing along, but it seemed to fit.
Ok, we're at the finishing line for me! :P The last one I'm going to share with you actually kind of fits in the "anime theme songs" thread, but I'll just leave it here since I am already started :x. This one is from the anime Clannad and is named (Translated) Farewell at the Foot of a Hill.
This song was what inspired me to commit to playing the piano ^^. It took me around two years to complete this song as I had tried, foolishly, to learn it right off the bat when I started learning how to play. Most of my friends and my own teacher had said it was nearly impossible for someone such as myself to play since I was such an uncoordinated individual, which I don't deny, I doubted it somewhat as well. Though, after having someone play the song for me, I regained my resolve to learn it and practiced relentlessly. After learning a combination of fast songs and extensive practicing with sight reading, here I am today playing this very song for my family every once in a while ^^.
And….there you have it! I am sorry about the long post, but if you went through all of it, thank you very much :). While there are others that I wish to share with you, I think this post has enough to keep you busy. lol
Oh, and yes! Your posts do not have to be nearly as extensive as mine…I was just trying to find time away from my research paper :p. Plus, I just had coffee so, I think that will help to explain the length of this post, haha.
Edit: Fixed all the hyperlinks ^^

When I made this post, it only consisted of hyperlinks on my screen; however, when I had started changing the code I allowed, it began showing those very hyperlinks as embedded videos, which I had not intended to do at all >.<.
If you want to display videos in your post, you just have to add the URL to the video to your post (Like this youtube.com/watch?v=S7YtO2bvYtY&feature=channel_video_title, with http://www. in front) and it will display unless you have tools like NoScript on which prevents code from working. From what I can see now, it pervades through hyperlink notices in code, sadly. So I'll try to fix it back to displaying hyperlinks whenever I find out how to get around the issue.
From what I have read on the Support Forums though, there seems to be people who have had issues showing embedded videos again since last month (June 2011). So if it doesn't work, just know that you're not alone in the issue.
P.S Thanks to your question, I realized I posted the wrong link for one of my videos. ^^;; lol

I'm always happy to discuss music! Personally I lean towards different styles of rock, and anything with a punkish/hardcore/progressive sound usually works. Great complex lyrics(with or without screaming) followed by delicous guitar sounds really do it for me.
In particular(and I'm sure you'll hear me say it alot) my favorite band is Rise Against. There was a time a good few years back when I was pretty much hated life and let too many issues stress me to the bone. Around that time I happened to stumble upon some of their music and I was instantly hooked. I find it easy to relate and find my own deeper meaning behind just about every song.
Now those ones are a bit mainstream, and if you happen to be a fan, trust when I say I know them all.
To end this long ass post I'd just like to mention some of my other favorite bands- Coheed and Cambria, My Chemical Romance, Every Time I Die, Muse, The Bled, Killswitch Engage, and I listen to alot of anime songs on and off, though I only really know a select few by heart.
This song, I can't even begin to describe what it means to me. When people ask to get to know me, I tell them to listen to this. I feel it conveys everything about me in it.
Noir - Canta Per me. (Sing to me.)
I just really enjoy this song.
Save Ferris - Come on Eileen.
My friends and I use to listen to this all the time, and it just kind of stuck with me. Whenever I listen to it I remember the good times.
Digimon - Here we go.
^ Nostalgia factor. This show WAS my childhood. Plus, this song never fails to get me pumped!
It's so hard to choose which i would share with you.. But i think i'll share some finnish metal about finnish mythology with you since it's pretty unfamiliar for everyone :p
Korpiklaani - Vodka
I don't need to tell you what this song is about.. Finnish folk metal. What can you say.. Votka + metal = best folk music there is!
Mokoma - Huomenhaamu
This song is about regret, apologizing and hoping for better tomorrow in relationship.
Mokoma - Ei Kahta Sanaa (Ilman Kolmatta)
A love "ballad" :D This song is about what the inner most of you want and about confessing your love :)
